> Manufacture


OM3 is a pharmaceutical grade oil manufactured from wild fish (anchovies, sardines).

Every stage during the manufacture of OM3 is carried out according to Good Food or Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Practices “GMP” in order to guarantee production of oil with a satisfactory pharmaceutical quality complying with ISO 9001 standards. In addition to rigorous in-process controls conducted during manufacture, isodisnatura periodically contracts a certified independent laboratory to carry out an analysis of stocks of finished product in order to control quality during their shelf-life. 

 
 
> Composition and Nutrtional Value


OM3 capsules contains:

• Concentrated fish oil in the form of ethyl esters (90% Omega-3), containing (for 3 capsules):
o EPA : 1050 mg
o DHA : 150mg

• Certified non-GEO natural extract of vitamin E, to ensure better oil preservation.
• Gelatine from fish raised in the wild, for a 100% fish formula.

OM3 delivers 1 gr of EPA per day (the effective dose tested in the CHUM study).

 
 
> Quality


The concentrations offered by OM3 are certified ISO 9001 and production is carried out according to “GMP " standards.

Fish products have an inherent risk of being contaminated by pollutants which are unfortunately widespread in the natural environment such as mercury (and other metals heavy), PCB or dioxin.

The levels of heavy metals (iron, arsenic, cadmium, lead, mercury, copper) and other pollutants (DDE, DDT, HCB) are certified to be below detection limits. In particular, the levels of PCB detected in batches of OM3 are less than or equal to 150 µg/kg, which is more than ten times lower than the standards established by the “Food and Drug Administration” (FDA) (2000 µg/kg), and more than six times lower than WHO standards (1000 µg/kg). Likewise, dioxin levels are lower than 2 picogTEQ/g in agreement with European regulations. 
 
 

 
 
> Shelf life


OM3 contains a protective dose of vitamin E (3 mg per gram of oil) which makes it possible to keep the omega-3 in a biologically active state and to limit the risk of peroxidation. Because of the presence of vitamin E, OM3 has a shelf life of 3 years if it is kept at a temperature of between 15 and 25°C in a dry place. On the contrary, exposure of the product to light and a high temperature reduces its life span and may damage the soft capsules.

As well as the rigorous in-process control tests, isodisnatura periodically contracts an independent laboratory to test OM3 in order to control quality during its shelf-life (3 years).
